A lot of work starts as a message. Someone mentions a bug, a client asks for a change, or a teammate says "we should do this". In most teams, that message then has to be copied into a separate task tool by hand, and the context usually stays behind.
In Roomie, chat and tasks are in the same place, so a message can become a task directly. Here is how it works.
Turn a message into a task
When a message describes something that needs doing, you can turn it into a task. The task stays linked to the conversation, so you can go back and forth between the two.
Click Create task, and the AI writes it up as a story for you. Check it, then confirm to create the task.
Manage tasks on boards across projects
Each project has a board. Drag a task to another column to change its status.
Open a task to see its details, update labels, raise the priority or add a comment.
Start a huddle when you need to talk
Sometimes a conversation is quicker as a call. Every room has a huddle, so you can start a voice or video call with your team right where the conversation is, without sending a meeting link.
Why it helps
- Nothing gets lost between chat and the task tool. The task keeps a link to the message it came from.
- Less typing. The AI writes the first version of the story, and you only check it.
- Search covers everything. Message history is unlimited, and you can search it along with your tasks.
